Sustainability Expo 2010 - Saturday 20 March
Join us as we celebrate the environment and promote what's new in sustainability!
The 2010 Expo will be held on Saturday 20 March 2010 from 8am to 1pm at Patterson Reserve in Hawthorn East (Melway Ref 59 E5), in conjunction with the Boroondara Farmers' Market.
This year the expo will feature:
* over 30 vendors specialising in environmentally sustainable products and services, including a number of businesses new to the event
* free workshops on a range of sustainability topics
* giveaways
* entertainment, with lots of activities just for kids
* opportunities to chat with staff and community group members to learn more about environmental initiatives in Boroondara.

What's on offer?
Especially for kids (big and small)
* Build and race a model solar boat
* Meet some of the beautiful and unusual native animals that live in Boroondara
* Face painting - native animals and other spectacular designs
* Drum and dance your heart out with the recycled drumming band and workshop
* Enjoy the antics of Our Planet Enterprises environmental theatre troupe
* Create a native animals to take home at our recycled craft workshop
* Explore our giant catchment model.
For all our residents
* Come along to one of our sustainability workshops - short and snappy sessions on a range of topics running through the morning
* Speak to the businesses and not-for-profit organisations promoting and demonstrating environmental products and services. A number of this year's vendors are new to the Expo.
* Speak to Council staff about environmental initiatives, parks and gardens, local green travel options, waste and recycling
* Meet well-known sustainable gardening expert and television personality Vasili between 9.30am and 11am and chat to him about healthy and sustainable gardening
* Connect with community environmental groups to explore how you can get involved locally
* Buy some delicious fresh local and seasonal food at the Boroondara Farmers market
