* Make a REAL difference
* Training and information provided
Want to get involved in one of Australia’s biggest fundraising events? The Oxfam TRAILWALKER is an exciting endurance challenge where teams of four complete a 100km course in less than 48 hours. The money raised helps support Oxfam’s relief and development programs around the world. In Melbourne alone, the 2008 event raised over $2.5 million.
Our volunteers are stars! Without the assistance and presence of hundreds of volunteers who donate their time and skills each year, it would be impossible to run this event. With an increased number of teams in 2010, we need to fill even more key volunteer positions to ensure a safe and memorable event. The upcoming event will be held from Friday 16th to Sunday 18th April 2010.
We are looking for committed and energetic volunteers to fill a range of roles across the event weekend, including Checkpoint Coordinators, Food & Beverage Coordinators, Medical Volunteers (specifically Physiotherapy, Myotherapy, Massage and Podiatry), Car Park Coordinators, Drivers, Trail Marshals and more! There are over 40 different types of roles, and hundreds of volunteers are required at different times over the weekend. Team volunteer opportunities are also available – a perfect way to spend time with family and friends whilst contributing to a great charity event.
Not only will you be supporting walkers by ensuring their safety and welfare, but the event provides volunteers with the opportunity to get involved with some high-level coordination roles, have fun and see first-hand how people in Australia can work together to help some of the world’s poorest communities.
You will be provided with training and a volunteer t-shirt to keep as a memento of your Trailwalker volunteer experience. Shifts vary from 4 to 8 hours and a meal will be provided if you work over a mealtime.. You will need to organise your own transport to get to your shift.
This Volunteering Opportunity is located in the Dandenongs/Yarra Valley region.
