Multicultural Hub
Purpose The City of Melbourne’s Multicultural Hub is a friendly place, where people from Melbourne’s many different cultures can get together to work, share and learn in a safe and supportive environment.
Activities / Campaigns The Multicultural Hub is owned by the City of Melbourne and is managed by the Adult Multicultural Education Services (AMES), Victoria’s largest local provider of multicultural support services. The City of Melbourne and AMES share a vision for the Multicultural Hub to be an active, vibrant, inclusive and diverse space.
Get Involved: The hub rents office spaces, has short term options for space, meeting rooms and provides useful training workshops from fundraising to governance for individuals working in the community sector.

Port Phillip EcoCentre
Purpose The Port Phillip EcoCentre Inc is a not-for-profit “umbrella” environment organisation which aims to facilitate awareness and local action for sustainable living to protect and enhance biodiversity.
Activities / Campaigns All users who book an area of the EcoCentre for their exclusive use, must be either individual/ affiliate members, sponsors and/or be demonstrably active in furthering the core objectives of the Eco House. Prices are around $44 for first hour, $20 for each hour after/ $88 for half a day.
Get Involved: get involved in a local group and visit the eco-centre website to learn about events happening there.

self-managed building
Ross House Association
Purpose Ross House is a self-managed five-storey building located in inner Melbourne offering tenancy and resources to a diverse range of self-help and small community groups. By providing a stable environment and cheap resources, Ross House aims to reduce the insecurities and financial pressures which so often hamper the activities of small community organisations. The 60 member groups of Ross House are working collaboratively towards a just and environmentally sustainable society. We wish to achieve social change through advocacy, campaigning, community education and provision of resources and information.
Activities / Campaigns Tenancy options include sharing an office space (8.5 m2 desk station) or having your own office starting from 8.5m2. There is a sliding scale of costs depending on the size of the group and non-profit status, starting at around $169 per m2 per year. There is a waiting list, however, small spaces come up quite regularly. Call Ross House to arrange an appointment with the Tenancy and Membership Worker to discuss tenancy. Ross House has ten different meeting rooms for hire ranging in size from seating 10 to 80 people. Each room has a whiteboard and some rooms have audio visual equipement. All have full accessibility for wheelchairs etc
Get Involved: come and see the range of groups in the building and use the facilities including binding, laminating and recycled paper photocopying.

South Melbourne Commons
Purpose Located at the site of the old South Melbourne Catholic Primary School, the South Melbourne Commons will become a new community hub that reconnects people back to a sense of place and belonging. The site will feature, a cafe, food cooperative, grocery store & deli with a weekly Saturday Eco Market operation starting later in the year. Weekly workshops and community activities will be a common occurrence.
Activities / Campaigns If you're looking for a space for your next function, workshop, performance, class or meeting, the beautiful heritage hall is ready for use. The 120 year old space could seat up to 300 for a performance or activity. Free for community groups and very reasonably priced commercial rates and the space is available now.
Get Involved: be part of the development of this amazing new community project in its beginning stages.

The 60L Green Building
Purpose 60L is the premier green commercial building in Australia, unique in its approach to energy and water consumption, and the use of recycled and re-used materials during construction. Tenants include Environment Victoria, Australian Conservation Foundation and Going Solar.
Activities / Campaigns There is a long list of groups on the waiting list for the 60L Green Building. Enquiries can be directed to the building manager Andrew Gemmell.
Get Involved: visit the building to see how the natural lighting, cooling and greywater systems work.

Trades Hall
Purpose For over 140 years the Victorian Trades Hall building has given form to dreams of a better life, equality, justice and social equity. This is the birthplace of organised labour in Australia, of the Victorian Labor Party and the Australian Council of Trade Unions (the ACTU).
Activities / Campaigns There are not so many active groups with offices in Trades Hall at the moment; however, Trades Hall offers large venues suitable for conferences and gigs. Venues include: The Old Council Chambers seats 100 (fixed); The New Ballroom seats 140 - 200 depending on configuration; The New Council Chambers seats 375 (fixed); and a range of meeting rooms of various sizes.
Get Involved: visit the New Internationl Bookshop in Trades Hall for new and used books on politics, the environment and other interesting topics.
